March is in like lamb, inspiring hope for Spring-craving fashionistas everywhere that our winter weather might finally be passé like last year’s fad. What better time to plan for 2013 shoe trends?
Spring Runway 2013
Feet in the Game
Whether you are in full Spring/Summer wardrobe build mode or just pondering which trends you will embrace once the days are warmer, you’ve got to be thinking about the 2013 shoe trends.
This Spring, there’s much to covet from the designer runways. Our favorite 2013 shoe trends run the gamut from pavement flat to skyscraper high. But what they all have in common is a distinctive style element that carves them (and you!) out of the crowd.
So when electing your Spring mix, think details! The unique construct of a heel or a signature embellishment can be the difference between ho-hum and holla!
Best Pump: Christian Dior
The angled heel of Raf Simons’ Spring collection elevates this from mere footwear to fashion art with the simple architectural change to the symmetry of the heel block. In lots of colors and variations, we love the black and orange, gold and pink versions.
Runner Up: Derek Lam’s perforated strappy sandal
Best Wedge: Burberry
The only word to describe Christopher Bailey’s high cuff wedge is delicious. In sumptuous jewel colors and the unabashed luxe of satin, this shoe is the perfect pop of color if you prefer neutrals in your spring clothing. And we like getting that mammoth height with a bit more comfort in a wedge.
Runner Up: Tom Ford’s fringed heel wedge
Best Flat: Gucci
The good old Gucci loafer celebrates it’s 60th anniversary as everyone’s favorite leisure shoe. So we nominate this oldie as a bestie for Spring. The 1953 Horsebit collection in bright pink, yellow or snakeskin is a bold choice and oh so classic. We like the mix of heritage and mod found in the white damo version with bamboo detail. Gotta have the red and green!
Runner Up: Tod’s easy metallic sandal
